Every year the Terrence Higgins Trust teams up with leading international auction house Christie’s for THE AUCTION: A charity auction consisting of donated artworks and experiences to raise funds for the many amazing projects in support of HIV and sexual health undertaken by the Trust.
Installation shot of my work for The Auction, Oceans V (2017).
This year, through my representation with Laura Pivetta at ArteMea, I had the opportunity to participate and raise funds for this great cause and it was nothing short of a memorable experience.
Clip from the event at Christie's on James Street in London, UK.
Held at Christie’s infamous James Street location, THE AUCTION was a grand soirée, both extravagant and sophisticated. Collectors and supporters mingled with Trustees and artists as the champagne flowed right through the live auction itself, which was held on the evening with about 15 lots closing under the hammer. Big names for the evening were works by Antony Gormley, Julian Opie and a very fancy wine bottle with the label designed by Tracy Emin. Among the greats, UK’s rising talent including Benjamin Murphy and Paul Robinson shined with strong works commanding attention.
Founded in 1982, the Terrence Higgins Trust is one of UK’s most recognised national charities achieving massive positive impact over a considerably short timespan. In support of the fight against HIV as well as supporting those living with HIV, THT provides a range of support and programs empowering the right to and improvement of sexual health.
Thousands of pounds have been raised from generous donations from some super big artists so everyone winning! Feeling blessed to have been a part of this :) - Dd
